Question: How do you replace drill bits for the Challenge paper drilling machine? My boss is on vacation and I'm the only one in my office right now and the bit in the paper drilling machine needs to be sharpened or replaced but I have no idea how to get it out. Any help?
Answer: call your boss and ask him or her.
Question: How will drilling for oil in the arctic negatively affect our future? I have to give a debate in school tommarow and need to come up with several points on how drilling in the arctic will negativley affect us. Thanks
Answer: WHY DON'T YOU DO YOUR OWN HISTORY HOMEWORK FOR ONCE SACK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Question: How to counter reasons not to support offshore drilling in a debate? I have a debate tomorrow and the topic is offshore drilling. I'm on the side that's for offshore drilling and have been assigned to the rebuttal. What are some popular reasons people give for being against offshore drilling, and how can I counter them in my rebuttal? Or, does anyone know of any websites with good information on this topic? ~Thanks!
Any info backed up by statistics is GREATLY appreciated!
Answer: We have other domestic oil reserves which may be cheaper for the taxpayer and won't fund government owned companies with the contracts for off-shore drilling.

Question: How can US domestic oil drilling be explained as being good for the environment? I am not looking for a political rhetoric slogan. I am looking for a complete explanation describing how US domestic drilling is good for the environment verses the current reality of importing oil. You may include security issues, animal, land and sea and air improvements as well as economic considerations.
Answer: This is in no way intended as a 'complete explanation' but I'll tender several thoughts on the subject.
1) Drilling here in the US rather than elsewhere in the world is probably better for the overall health of the global environmental situation due to increased awareness, abundant regulations and higher technology.
2) It may sound like a crazy reason, but many posit that drilling reduces the pressure of the field decreasing or alleviating altogether the occurrence of natural seeps.
3) Statistically speaking, the less oil that moves around the planet, the fewer actual spills we will have.
4) I don't believe it is morally tenable to consume 25+/-% of the world's oil while producing only 3%.
5) Relying on others to produce (and therefore reap the monetary rewards) can have disastrous effects on our economy and our safety.
Question: How do you feel about oil drilling in the Gulf of Mexico? What is oil drilling in the gulf really going to do to our beautiful white Florida beaches?? The Texas beaches are often time a mess. Won't this happen here?
Answer: In the year 2008 we are 100% capable of drilling for oil in a environmental friendly fashion.
Also it is a fact that the oil rigs themselves provide sanctuary for dozens of species wherever they they are installed,( texas california alaska ect...)
Besides we are in a oil crisis in the u.s.a and if we do not secure that oil other countries are talking about drilling at angles from international waters to get the oil we won't!!
So we can do it clean and by our own means or let the filthy mexican or chinese govts do it!
Question: How many of you are against or for offshore drilling? Norway is a beautiful country and they are enviormentally sound people and they are self-sufficient. And they also export. Why can't we. France runs almost all of its power on nuclear power and they store it underground. And we don't.? And for those of those who think that offshore drilling won't decrease gas and fuel prices. You're wrong. Keeping money out of foreign hand makes the dollar stronger. And since it's close to good old Uncle Sam artificial marketing wouldn't be a global thing. And also if it was a mistake to not start drilling years ago we need to start now.
Answer: You got it right and look at summer 2005 when Katrina followed by Rita tore through the Gulf of Mexico and destroyed over 100 oil platforms. Did you see the stories of oil spills? NO? That is because there was none. The oil industry has brought technology to bear that caps the wells at the ocean floor preventing any spills. The reason the offshore drilling was stopped off both coast was the threat of spills which is now gone and we are talking about 50 miles out to sea where they will be below the horizon from shore not like Galveston where if you look real hard you can spot them. As far as ANWAR the pristine section you see on the TV is not the area where they want to drill it is the frozen to 1000 ft deep tundra on the far north where a size of an airport will be developed and connect to already existing pipeline to the south. The fact is they just want to stop us from having oil to push their alternate energy which no one ask them when will it be ready. They complain that it takes 5 to 10 years to get through the red tape and build the infrastructure to bring the oil to market, but no one ask how long till your hippy energy will power our economy. Truth is way longer than 5 to 10 years.
Question: What will Americans think and do when we start drilling but prices of gasoline go up anyway? Will it be a "psychological fix" when new drilling is approved but we continue to see gasoline prices rise?
Do people seriously think that if we started drilling all over today, our gasoline will be cheaper 5 or 10 years from now? Are they being realistic or just hopeful?
Answer: Basic supply and demand. If you increase world supply, then world prices go down unless demand increases at a higher rate. If you don't, demand will continue to increase anyway, so prices will rise faster.
Nobody is saying that in 5 or 10 years gas prices will be cheaper than now if we drill here. What they're saying is that short-term prices will decrease, due to the futures market. Oil is purchased not on what it costs to produce now, but what financial analysts expect it will cost in the future. That's why things like weather forecasts, international tensions, etc can cause the prices to go up. And also why things such as a hurricane not destroying infrastructure can cause quick drops.
Note oil is below $92 a barrel today. And that is despite the OPEC cartel's threats to cut production. Do we really want to let OPEC keep us over the barrel instead of tapping our own supplies?
Just because it may not solve all of our energy problems is no reason to do nothing. That's like saying that if you get shot there's no point applying pressure to the wound because you'll still die anyway. Yes, it is true, if you don't do anything else, but if you don't apply the pressure you'll die before you have a chance to do anything else.
Question: Drilling nails through a wall need to know where wires are.? If I don't have a electrical wire finder. I want to drill in the middle of a wall I want to know that I am not gonna fry my self. I live in an apartment and the electrical box is sealed. So my only option
is guess. If I knew how walls are wired then I can avoid drilling into a wire.
Any thoughts or ideas befofe I drill?
Is there a diagram anywhere online where I can see how walls are wired?
Answer: not all wires go straight up to the ceiling... some go from the level of the socket to another socket and then up... but usually as long as you dont mess around the area that has a socket or a light switch, then youll be fine...i remodel homes and build new ones, i know usually whats going on and where
Question: What American coasts are we allowed to do offshore drilling on? Should America increase its offshore drilling? And if so, where should we drill?
Answer: There are oil platforms in the Gulf of Mexico. Great fishing around them.
Question: Now that the democrats passed a bill to allow drilling what republicans argue about? Looks like they can't blame democrats for stopping drilling now. I think this was a brilliant move. I don't think drilling will solve the problem but now republicans cant point the finger at some one else. They said drill baby drill and we said go ahead. President Bush has threatened to veto this so here's another thing we can blame on him.
Typo : Now that the democrats passed a bill to allow drilling what will republicans argue about?
Answer: Yes, Bush is going to Veto the bill. So sad, that Rep's do this isn't it. They got what they wanted and now the don't want it.
Question: What is a good thesis statement for against offshore drilling? What would be a good thesis statement for a persuasive essay against offshore drilling? I need three main reasons. I'm including three reasons for offshore drilling in my paper too so please don't preach about how offshore drilling is right. Thanks(:
I thought I'd put this in an environmental section since the environment plays a big part in the whether we should drill or not.
Answer: The Democrats will protect the environment even if U do not have any gasoline.
Question: How do I install a new ignition switch without drilling the bolts on my 96 integra? I got a new ignition switch for my 96 integra gsr(manual) and I don't see how to remove the old one without drilling out the bolts above the steering column. Is there a way around this?
No I didn't steal the car. Someone tried to steal it and broke the ignition, while taking about $500 worth of electronics.
Answer: Hmm. Did your previous one go bad? Was it like that when you bought it? Did you get this new switch from a dealer, or a parts store? Are you sure you and your friends didnt heist this car? lol. My advice is to call a dealer, and see if you can kick it with a shop guy, on some tech about ignitions. So many variances now a days, I really don't know, but I definitely don't think there would be any drilling necessary. I could be wrong, though. It happened once. lmao. Good luck!
Question: How can I install a whammy set up without drilling out the guitar? I am in need of some assistance on this one. I have a very nice B.C Rich Warlock with no whammy and I'd like to put one in. The only problem is that I have an issue using a dremel tool on such a nice guitar. I was wondering what my options are(without drilling holes in the back of my guitar)....I dono. Can so somebody please give me some advice on what to do?
Answer: the best guitar players don't need a whammy bar...
Question: If you are drilling holes in a wall how do you avoid electrical cable? I am putting some shelves up, and right next to where I am putting them is an electrical cooker socket and slightly further away is an electrical air vent. I am worried about drilling into wires. I can't turn the power off because my drill is not battery powered. I do not want to invest in special scanning equipment just to build these shelves. There is no other good position for these shelves to go. The wall is a brick wall and there is no sign of where the wires are. Would the wires usually be placed deep enough away from the wall surface so the drill wouldn't reach them?
Please only answer if you are knowledgable about British building methods (I think American methods may be different).
Answer: I believe that IEE regulations state that cables to sockets should travel straight up or down the wall. In other words if your house was wired correctly in the first place as long as you don't drill directly above either of the power points you should be fine. Be suspicious however if you have ever found anything fitted in a "cowboy diy" manner by a previous occupant of the house ( mine actually had cables going diagonally across a wall under the plaster !)
I am not an electrician, if in doubt try to borrow a cable detector.
Question: When working in home, what is easiest way to avoid drilling into electric wiring? I want to hang a picture on my wall, but I will be drilling close to a lightswitch and an electrical outlet.
Answer: Try using plastic anchors that do not require drilling , just punching a small hole in the sheetrock. If you must drill find a stud and stay exactly on the stud which the outlet and switch boxes should be mounted on a stud. the other safest thing might be to stay in the middle of a stud space as typically the wire would be secured on the side of the stud. Try not to penetrate more the 1 inch into the wall as the wire if installed properly should be about 1 1/2 inches in. Professional installation would be the only absolute way of staying safe.
Question: How does temperature effect concrete/cement when drilling? I'm getting ready to install an iron railing on my front steps. I live in South West Michigan. It has been just a little above or below zero and probably will be for another couple of weeks. I'm afraid that drilling the steps to install the railing might cause them to crack or break off. I would like to know if drilling the steps at these low temperatures could potentially damage them. Thanks
Answer: No different than warm. It tends to be the operator that is more in a hurry to get out of the cold so kinda forces the issue moreso. You can't put in any wet mix until the weather does warm up....for if that wet mix freezes in a solid piece of concrete---its broken.
