Question: In the Philippines, how do you get a road repaired? Who prioritizes the repair projects? I just want straight, by the law, answers. Nothing like reporting it in TV patrol. Thanks.
Answer: the DPWH would repair highways major thoroughfares bridges etc. but the local government LGU mayor is responsible for the roads within its boundaries. these budget comes from the development fund distributed by the congressmen (pork barrel). however the LGU could allocate funds for repairs of their roads as municipal projects.
it should be the responsibility of the planning office/ of the LGU. however since the municipal mayor being the head/ (honorary) chairman he always has the last say.
so no mater what recommendations, complaints and miserable the road may be if the municipal mayor would not act on it because its a territory of an opposing party, you wouldn't get any results. this is the Philippines get use to this "tae"
Question: Why would DELDOT start a road repair or upgrade on every single major road and not finish due to lack of funds Delaware department of transportation started 50 million projects on every single major road in northern delaware. Now they are saying that these projects lack funds to finish them and they are going to have to be put off. Why don't they just combine all the workers together.finish the projects quicker and then start another project when they get more funds. All the projects have made this state a living hell to live in and drive in. (I mean who in their right mind would start roadwork on ROUTE 1 in early spring, and beginning of summer? Couldn't they have completed that project in the winter)
Answer: This is a normal ploy: to deplete the federal funding so they can start bonds (tax increases) to pay for the roadways / they cannot do bonds unless all other money has been spent.
Question: who is responsible for the repair of a road? On my deeds it is marked out that I own the road up to halfway across. It is in need of repair and people think that I am responsible to get it done. The potholes to the road surface is done by the cars who use it to get to there homes.I never use the road,am I liable or is it the councils responsibility.
Answer: the city or the county ................................

Question: How to pay for US road and bridge repair? From Yahoo news, "How to pay for US road and bridge repair?
Some lawmakers put a hike in the gas tax on the table, but Bush dismissed the idea on Thursday."
How about taking from the politicians$$$$$$$$$$$$
Cheffy D.....it is obvious to me that you do not have clue what is going on with an American econmy, wake up!!!!
Answer: Stop raiding the tax money generated from the "gas" tax to build sporting arenas.
Question: Has anyone noticed how road repair crews are mostly non american citizens now? or that if you see a furniture delivery truck cruising around making deliveries that the two man crew is also not american?
Answer: I haven't and wonder how anyone would know that without stopping and asking each person..
Question: Is there any good way to repair a road bike tire? I have accepted the fact that I will probably have to buy a new tire, but I would love it if there was a way just to fix it. It is about $30 or $40 to replace.
It is the hard rubber part, not the tube. Bontrager brand. Just has a small rip in it. I made a think wall of duck tape to hold it temporary.
Any good ideas on how to fix it???
Thanks for the answers.
Answer: I keep a couple of pieces of old worn out tire in my bag to deal with rips encountered on the road, and you can use one for a fairly extended period. Duct tape is not strong enough to hold against pressures seen in road bike tires. I once rode a whole season on a tire repaired with a piece of tire casing.
Question: When fixing hail damage with Paintless Dent Repair does it effect the paint job down the road? My husband's car was recently damaged in a hail storm and the insurance adjuster gave us a quote based on Paintless Dent Repair if it was repaired at the collision center where it was taken for the estimate. I've heard that getting PDR done stretches the paint and can cause it to eventually crack down the road and damage the paint job. Is this true? Would it be better to have the car repaired by replacing some of the damaged areas and repainted?
Answer: I used to work for a body shop and I can tell you that pulling dents without repainting them can cause the paint to bubble off of the body.
Whenever dealing with your insurance company, remember they want to lowball you. They're in it to save money. You are entitled to have your vehicle fixed to your satisfaction.
Let me explain it like this. I lived in Dallas and we had hail every winter. Dealerships are mostly outdoors and they would have "hail sales" where they'd take an additional $3k off of a vehicle and let you fix it if you cared to do it.
Now, considering these dealerships all have body shops and can do it it at cost, why don't they do that? And considering dent repair is cheaper, why don't they do that? Why don't they spend $1000 to fix a car instead of losing $3000 on it?
Because dent repair sucks. Get your car fixed. Get the dents pulled, bondoed, smoothed down and painted like new.
Question: How do you repair an eroding dirt road? I live on a private dirt road that slopes to a lower area. My road is slowly eroding and getting narrower. How can I efectively rebuild my road, and how much would it cost. I live in MA, Northshore area.
Answer: I have a dirt/gravel road driveway. My driveway crosses a small stream, and it flooded on a few occasions. The water running over the road washed away the gravel and eroded the base a little, but it was mostly stopped by the rock used in the base.
You need to take two measures to correct your problems. First, identify and correct the cause of the erosion. If you don't then any repair you make to the road will not last. Install the proper drainage that is needed. It will be worth it in the long run.
Second, it sounds as if your road might not have a proper base. The base is usually ~1 ft of a mix of large and small rock on which the driving surface is built, usually finer (2" and smaller) gravel. You could limit the addition of a good base to the damaged area. Depending on the size of the job, you could do this by hand. I've had the rock delivered to the job site, even dumped directly into the needed area.
I've included a link. Although this link is specifically about asphalt, it discusses the importance and construction of the base layer.

Question: Canadian Taxes - Healthcare and Road Repair for starters. But, where is the rest going? Why the F do we not get a report on where our tax dollers are distributed? Yeah EI for example...Like I'm going to see that in 30yrs? "laughing"
Who gets to see this budget? The Auditor? The ave. Joe Blow tax payer? Last time i checked we got our "budget" info through a media news outlet. It's BS! Everyone knows the way to get back is to find those loop holes and get a piece yourself.
Answer: Um, we do get a report. It's called the budget? Big thick book put out each year. Also ways and means committee reports, all sorts of other documents.
If you want to know where it's going, all you need to do is look, no need to swear about it.
