Question: Which of the following statements regarding proteomics is correct? A. Proteomics is the study of protein interaction within a cell.
B. Proteomics involves the complete analysis of the prokaryotes.
C. Proteomics is a straightforward task that is technically simple.
D. Proteomics is the systemic study of the full set of proteins encoded by a genome.
E. Proteomics and genomics allows scientists to study life in an ever-increasing reductive approach.
Answer: D.
Question: How does Genomics, Proteomics and Bioinformatics help in Target Discovery? Like the title say, I would like to know how these helps in Target Discovery. Please be as clear as possible. I feel that the target is discovered based on "theory". For example if you have a heartbeat disorder, you probably want to target the calcium channel. However, I dont see how genomics, proteomics and bioinformatics come in here. It's more of like logic. Anyone can give any better examples and/or explain how it works to me. THanks.
Answer: From a simple point of view, both of the "omics" make use of bioinformatics to look at huge amounts of data; genomics for genes and proteomics for proteins.
They can be used for Target Discovery in a variety of ways. One example would be to use siRNA (small interfering RNA) against one or more targets of your choice, then examine what happens to large numbers of genes and proteins, using gene arrays or mass spectrometry, respectively. There are many other possibilities; this is just one.
Question: What is the difference between genomics, proteomics and metabolomics?
Answer: Genomics is the study of all the genes an organism has.
Proteomics is the study of all the proteins made by the organism and the conditions under which the organism makes them (growth phase, always, shock,...)
Metabolomics is the study of small molecules (metabolites) that are left behind as a result of cellular processes.
Question: How can proteomics research benefit from information gathered by human genome project?
Answer: Proteomics is the study of all the proteins produced. However, we do not know all the proteins made in humans. With the human genome project, we can kind of figure out which parts of the human genome will code for a gene, and eventually code for protein. Now, because we have the entire human genome, we have the potential to figure out all the proteins created, just need to find it through that vast amounts. There are various methods, such as searching for open reading frames, or homologous sections compared to other genomes that we have.
Question: What would you call one who studies proteomics? Like a geneticist studies genetics a blank studies proteomics.
Answer: proteomicist
Question: What is multiple reaction monitoring in proteomics? and how does it work?
Answer: Visit the link below and hope u find the required info:

Question: What is the difference between genomics and proteomics?
Answer: Genomics is the study of the genome (the DNA sequence) of an organism
Proteomics is the study of the structure and function of proteins.
Question: I want to write a research proposal about " Proteomics as diagnostic tool" to discover biomarkers? Hello, I am student and I hope to get a PhD,I want help to write a research proposal about " Proteomics as diagnostic tool" to discover biomarkers for any type of cancers or other diseases
Answer: First of all, are you a graduate student going for you PhD? If so, then you should go to your thesis advisor for help on this. If you are an undergrad planning to go into this line of research, then you should go to a professor who does molecular biology and ask him or her this question. He or she might be able to direct you towards someone who does research in that particular field and who might be able to answer your questions (the main one which should be "what projects could I propose that others with more experience and funding aren't already doing")
Question: What is the Impact factor 2005 for Molecular and cellular proteomics?
Answer: 9.876
Question: proteomics. what are the most impotant aspects? me and my partner have to do a 1 hour report on proteomics for our biochemistry subject and i just want to know any insights on the topic. and also please include websites or references aside from wikipedia. thanks!
Answer: proteomics
