Question: EtHICS???? 1. Which entity do you think is responsible for upholding ethics in the corporate world; Government, corporations, organizations or individuals? 2. How should we as individuals implement our ethics regarding corporations? 3. Do you ever stop to think about the products you buy and where they were came from and how they were made from a personal ethical point of view? 4. Do you think that if we act each individually abiding by our ethics and be socially responsible we could eliminate corruption, irresponsible or unethical behavior that might bring harm to the community, its people, or the environment before the behavior happens? PLEASE ANSWE EACH QUESTION SEPERATELY DOES NOT HAVE TO BE A LONG ANSWER, THANKS for 1 and 2 you can write a few words only, and 3 and 4 you can answer yes or no....its not long

Answer: 1 all SHOULD be responsible, but that will never happen. gov't is influenced by lobbyists for the corps. corps are out for profit. orgs, MAY do some good with public awareness, but xome are too fanatical, and are disregarded by those outside the org., by and large. 2. boycotts rarely work, so i don't have a solution. 3. yes i do, BUT it has come to the point where many American made products are unaffordable. if i want new shoes for work that i know will look grubby within days i choose a $25 shoe made overseas over a pair made in the USA for $100. ethics aside, i have to buy what makes sense. i don't own an American flag because i can't FIND one made in the USA! 4. no. not unless we all bond together and pledge to do the same, and that, again, is not practical nor affordable for the average consumer.

Question: What is ethics and how do we manage ethics? I am writing a paper on ethics. I was hoping to get some opinions to include showing the wide range of opinions people have on the definition of ethics. Also how to manage ethics??? I would greatly appreciate your responses. Whatever. I am not asking for you to do my home work for me. I have already written a 5 page document. I was trying to spice it up with other opinions of the subject from general people. It's a controversial topic is my main point.

Answer: Ethics is a method of achieving an honest relationship between organizations or companies and the general public. Ethics are usually (but not always) a written code that is managed through the use of penalties such as censure or banishment from the organization. Mostly ethics relies on the individual for enforcement. Ethics takes what is law and turns it into a practical methodology by interpreting those laws to fit the circumstances. Basically, ethics are a way to keep people away from the appearance of evil, if I may use a biblical phrase.

Question: What exactly does the law and ethics have to do with each other? As a hopeful lawyer soon-to-be (okay wannabe, you made me say it) what does ethics have to do with the law? I mean, I know ethics has good intentions. It can restrict lawyers from doing bad things. But it also gives criminals leeway to get away from the law? How do they complement each other? If you know the origin of "ethics" (from "ethos") and logic (from "logos") upon which much of the laws have been built in the history of the world, you'll see why the Ancient Greeks called them branches of Philosophy. So why have we only taken "ethics" and "logic" from Philosophy and applied it to the law? There's aesthetics, metaphysics, and others? Seems like the law is just trying to keep out the others. I say get rid of ethics and everything will be fine.

Answer: You have to remember that nation's law are not just based on logic or ethics. Take for example slavery in America, it was perfectly legal to own slaves...was is right, no. So, you have to take into account the mental state of a nation and how they make their laws. Just like some third world nations, they see their laws as just, but we as Americans see them as horrific tools to oppress women, men, etc....

Answer: ethics - principle values. How you deal with right and wrong morals - knowing what is right or wrong ethics ARE moral values They are more or less synonyms. The only difference is that ethics involve more complicated aspects set by specific situation ex. a doctor should not divulge is patient's condition with a third party (ethics). Ethics can be ignored, however morals are more established code of behaviors. Committing a crime (say killing) is morally wrong (nothing to do with ethics). --morals should always be applied prior to ethics. Ethics subjective - example: reporters. You have paparazzi who think since they aren't committing a crime, they can basically play with celebrity's lives, whereas an ethical reporter would respect the privacy

Question: What is the difference between ethics and integrity? Do you know the difference, if there is one, between ethics and integrity?

Answer: Ethics is your personal, moral system of beliefs. Integrity is your ability to adhere to your system of beliefs.

Question: How important are business ethics to a company and their success? Discuss the ethical climate at a business that you are familiar with or one that you have researched. How have ethics affected this business? What does this business do to enforce ethical principles? What things could they do better? Answer: business ethics are important but are difficult to enforce. I am a member of a professional organization with a defined ethics policy in it's bylaws. there are complaints of ethics violations against 3 members but no one wants to sit on an ethics committee for fear of incurring personal liability. It' a ridiculous situation mired in politics and fear of reprisals.

Answer: You are not going to receive a single, all-encompassing answer, simply because one doesn't exist. Ethics committees do not all exist under the same set of rules or procedures. An example under one ethics committee may not apply to another ethics committee. For a precise answer, you will need to consult the rules and procedures of the particular ethics committee you're interested in.

Question: Ethics question: Should a homeless man who loves his children be allowed to keep them? This is the law and ethics questions, and this is not a law question but an ethics question. So it is opinion based. I am not asking for a legal answer, I already know the law, I am asking for your moral viewpoint on the situation. Should a homeless man who loves his children be allowed to keep them?? The hypothetical man is looking for a job, but not avidly. And he of course, lives on the street, and not in a car.

Answer: No, because if he really loved them he would be looking for a job 24/7, he'd try to make as much effort as possible, and if he really loved them he'd realize he can't provide for his children and should instead let someone who can until he is ready for them. Streets are no place for children, regardless of loving parents or not... love doesn't put food in their mouths, clothes on their backs, or a roof over their head; hard work and dedication does.
