Answer: Here are some sites for free for you to do a floor plan, add windows, doors and furniture, etc. But for an easy software program, I reccommend Better Homes and Garden for ease of use and support with forums. It isn't that much money. I use Designer 7. So, this could help you out,since you probably have all the floor plans and could just plug in your dimensions. You need to use the plan view to see how the room will acutually look. Also, consider the amount in the library feature. You can then use it to aid it paint colors as it has a painter tool. Good luck. I think you can purchase one for a trial period of 30 to 90 days. Inquire about that. I had mentioned Anderson Windows, but I haven't checked their site for room planning. Question: (New Jersey) Anyone have experience with the company "All-American Siding and Window Design"? I am getting my house insulated and need a review of this company.

Answer: Ask the company for four or five references. Actually call and visit the past jobs and people that were served by the company in question. Get bids from at least two other companies. When you select a contractor make sure of what you are buying and make sure that there is a schedule of completion of every step. Do NOT pay anything in advance! Do NOT pay until the job is finished and the contractors have cleaned up after themselves. Still not sure? Hire another contractor to supervise the job.

Question: Where can I find a beveled glass window with a simple fairy design for my daughter's bedroom? I have looked all over the internet for a simple, beveled glass window with a small, dainty fairy design and I can't find anything. I want something with NO color, just clear glass, maybe a small fairy in the center. If I have to get it custom made, what is a good site to choose a fairy image?

Answer: Buy any window, and get some Gallery Glass (faux stained glass paint), find the image you like, in the size you want, tape it to the outside of the window, where you want it, and "Paint-by-Number". Depending on the cost of the window, and the number of colors you want, CHEAP! Gallery Glass is about $4.00/color.

Question: Is there a website that can help me with window covering design ideas? I am just looking to come up with ideas and not shell out money to have someone come look. Is there a website that I can just tell them what colours I have and they would show me ideas?

Answer: If you want custom window coverings, I would try Calico Corners. If you don't want to spend a lot, just go to Bed Bath and Beyond if there is one near you. They have nice panels and some different style examples in the store.

Question: Where can I find a job in Austin doing some sort of creative carpentry (ie. set, event, window design)? I have 10+ years of set/design construction experience, and have worked for a prestigious design firm in NYC. I just can seem to find anywhere in Austin that offers a job like I want. Answer: Contact the University of Texas Drama department and ask them if they have any ideas. Remember Austin isn't NY... the amount of work you are asking about is going to be sub more limited. Google 'dinner theatre austin texas' see what comes up and make some calls.

Question: How to create a simple flex design project like Apple system window? My first task in my new company is to create a flex design which look likes apple window format. For example, all portfolio design should be given in small size icon and when you click that design it must show enlarged size of that portfolio design but it should not clear all small sized design. Question: Window just above the bathtub remodeling/design ideas? I am remodeling a bathroom and I have a window just above the tub. If you take a shower, you need to cover it with a window curtain. Any other options available? Any special type of window I can install? or something nicer then a curtain can be used? Any design ideas are welcome......

Answer: Your situation sounds perfect for installing glass block. It obscures the view while still letting in the sunlight. It comes in several colors as well, so you could intermingle another color or two with the standard clear and come up with a pleasing design.

Question: Window Covering Design Rules? What's the design rule when it comes to hard treatment window coverings? Do I need to go with either all wood blinds or all Roman blinds in the entire house or can I mix? Meaning, I'd like to use wood blinds in the living room and family room and use romans in the bedrooms.

Answer: I would recommend doing the public rooms in one style, the bedrooms each in their own style. When looking at the home from the outside, consider what one will see. I like the street side (for curb appeal) to show same window treatments.
