Question: What are the chances of Marine Warehouse Clerk being deployed? My husband is a Marine and just graduated bootcamp. He's a 3051 - Warehouse Clerk. The Schooling is 37days long in Camp Johnson, NC. After he finishes his schooling were is he most likely gonna be stationed at? and what are his chances of being deployed?
Answer: They need supply clerks too... Being a "Paper Pusher" does not mean he can't or wont be deployed
Question: What does a USMC reservist warehouse clerk do when deployed? I'm leaving for boot camp in August with this as my MOS and will be joining the reserves. I know what the job description is of a USMC reservist warehouse clerk is while drilling but does it change when deployed or will it stay the same?
Answer: It should stay the same. All that changes is your environment. Instead of having a warehouse, you may have a tent or some form of makeshift warehouse to work out of.
Also, many times MOS's such as yours can be pulled to fill roles such as security or convoys or things of that nature. It all depends on the needs of the USMC.
Even if you spoke with a warehouse clerk Marine who just deployed, this would not mean you would be doing the same things as he did.
It just depends on where you go, when you go, and who needs what.
Question: What's it like as a Marine reserve in Iraq working as a warehouse clerk? My brother is a Marine Reserve, and he's been put on the list for his first tour of duty in Iraq. We are trying to get some information from experienced Iraq vets who has done warehouse work.
Answer: I'm an engineer, and so worked with forklifts in some "warehouses" in Iraqfor a short while before I requested to be moved to something more exciting. Your brother is pretty much going to be bored the whole time over there. All he'll mostly do is recieve new supplies, organize them in the "warehouses", then send them on to other, smaller bases, or different units needing the supplies. He'll do this for about 16 to 20 hours a day for 6 months, with no days off the whole time. The only way he'll leave the base, or do something dangerous, such as convoys, would be if he volunteered for hazardous duty, or (and this is extremely unlikely) a lot of people got hurt or killed and they needed more people
Question: Marine Corps Warehouse Clerk 3051? What is a normal day like for a warehouse clerk in the Marine Corps? Do you work with a lot of people or is it just a couple? Also what are deployments like for this job?
Answer: You will kick boxes and get promoted far to quickly.
Count, kick box, count, kick box, count, kick box, etc.
Question: What are a warehouse delivery clerk job duties?
Answer: The duties and responsibilities would have been mentioned in the offer the company has given to you. If no details are given, you are responsible for receipt of goods, checking for physical quantity, coding, stacking, and issue against release orders. You are responsible for inventory of goods moving out and coming in. You have to assist the internal auditors for their monthly random stock verification. If you are working under a ware house manager, you have to comply with other assignments that may be assigned from time to time. Some ware house clerks should know operation of fork lift for movement of materials.
Question: USMC warehouse clerk (3051)? what exactly would a warehouse clerk do if sent to Iraq. Would he do the same job as he would back home on base? Would he have to go out and fight and patrol streets?
Answer: It is unlikely that you will be doing something out side of your job but it could happen if they need you. More than likely you will be doing your job in Iraq but going on a lot of Convoys of the FOB to deliver your item to were they need to be.
Question: What is the possibility of seeing combat as a USMC reservist warehouse clerk? I leave in August for boot camp with the MOS warehouse clerk and I'll be a reservist. I know that with what is going on in the world today I will more than likely be deployed at some point and time. I am wondering what my chances of seeing combat as a warehouse clerk are? I have no problem with being in combat and know that it is my duty as a Marine to lay down my life for my country and I will gladly do so if called upon. I would have went infantry but i will benefit more with my civillian job as a warehouse clerk. But what are my chances of seeing combat if deployed? Thanks.
Answer: I'm sure people are gonna tell you that every Marine is a fighter first. This is only true to a certain extent. We are not in WW2 where this would apply. In the event your base were overrun or where the infantry was defeated, then it would be up to you to step up.
Like I already told you. You may have to stand a post or do a convoy or two. What you will NOT be doing is infantry type missions. You are not trained to fight in combat in that way. There is no shortage of infantry Marines.
And deployments are not only to the middle east. You may deploy elsewhere.
In my opinion you will be doing clerk work, even if you deployed to the middle east I do not see you in any type of combat unless your base were rocketed or something like that.
Don't fall for the hype that every Marine is out there fighting..If this were true then who in the hell is gonna do the jobs that support combat MOS's such as warehouse clerk?? Think about that.
Question: usmc warehouse clerk? Do warehouse clerks normally go out on combat missions while deployed to Iraq? or do they just stay on the base the entire time?
Answer: You wont be doing any combat missions because that is not your job.
But you may have to be part of a convoy escort to protect your gear and you may have to do some form of guard duty..
but you will not be used as a combat Marine because your a warehouse clerk.
Question: It takes 7 shipping clerks 15 days to prepare the warehouse for a new shipment. How many days would it take if It takes 7 shipping clerks 15 days to prepare the warehouse for a new shipment. How many days would it take if only 3 shipping clerks, who worked at the same rate, had to do the job?
could anyone help me solve this problem i roughly know the answer is more then 30 days but whats the formula thanks
Answer: Work out the number of "man-days" for the task = 7*15 = 105 man days
Now assuming there are no critical tasks that require one clerk to wait on another and the job can be split up linearly.
Given 3 clerks, combined they have to provide 105 man days for a new shipment, which is 35 days each - so as they work in parallel the new shipment takes 35 days.
Now if we could work out how many shipping clerks it takes to change a light bulb...
