I have noooo idea what to ask for salary wise. I dont even know if I'd be asking for salary or for an hourly wage. I would at least like to make more then I'm making now at 9.80 an hour. Answer: What does a degree in Human Services teach you? Office assistants don't do much that requires formal training (or, sometimes, any training at all), so if the other qualification goes beyond sending faxes and typing correspondence, then get that one.

You have to be prepared with your answers beforehand so that you dont stammer and freeze up. Interviews go so much better when you are prepared. Do a self assesment of your self to make your list. When they ask you about your strengths... dont be shy! This is your opportunity to sell yourself! Do you work well under pressure? Are you organized? Are you friendly and warm? Computer & internet savey? Great at following instructions? A strong work ethic? Excellent attendance record? As far as a weakness, those are tricky. Be careful what you say here because you dont waht to scare them off. You might say that your computer skills are not what YOU want them to be and that you are going to be taking classes to advance. I have been a virtual assistant for about 3 years now, but I'm finally ready to take my business to the next level and try to do some marketing. But that gives you an idea of the level of quirkiness I'm looking for.

I have 6 months left of school but have to pick my externship site now and I know I am in the "wrong field" if I don't like blood but it is just the beginning of my career. Answer: Most private clinics run by doctors have a dedicated person for drawing blood. They know that only 1 person in 20 is good at getting a vein on the first try. If you work at one of the clinics you will never be asked to draw blood..

Question: Where can I take an "Office Assistant" class? In WA. Specific community colleges. Links would help too, please. I want to get a job as a secretary, but I don't have any previous experience doing anything aside from food-service, and I think that taking a class like this will make me a much more appealing candidate.

Answer: go to www.princetonreview.com and look up the program you want they'll even give u wat you need to get in, how to apply and wat other students getting into the program have in their backgrounds (grades, etc) you should probably go ahead for the AA while you're at it, since just a class won't help you in this economy GOOD LUCK! o and btw, you can do some classes online (you can also find more info on that at princetonreview)
