Question: How to obtain a job as a receptionist/office clerk in a doctors office? I am a college student looking to do work in a medical setting with tasks such as an office clerk or receptionist. This is not a job that just has regular applications and hiring signs. How would I approach this situation in the most professional manner. I was thinking of maybe calling and asking, mailing a resume'? Please help.
Answer: Sign up with the temp agencies. They will get you in the door. If the company likes your work, they will hire you full time.
Question: How much do you think an office clerk (of 12 years) should be making in Ontario, Canada? How much money do you think that an office clerk should be making in Ontario, Canada -- one that has been working in the same office for 12 years. Thanks!
Job: Answering phones, helping customers, filing, inventory, invoicing, maintaining database, running off copies and flyers, folding, along with other assorted jobs. (When accounts receivable lady is away, doing some her job, when the main receptionist is away, doing her job which means putting my own job on hold), currently learning another department's job)
Answer: Depends alot on the company, I would say $13/hr + 1.5OT + 4% vacation [canadian $]
Question: What kind of person do you have to be in order to be a good office clerk? What personality traits should you have? How can one survive in the office world as a clerk?
Answer: JD's answer is quite correct. Attention to detail is a big requirement, and also one must not find the work of reading, writing and checking papers to be too boring.
The ability to prioritise your own workload is also an asset.
In addition, an office is not always a place of great excitement, so a quieter type of personality who enjoys a friendly atmosphere with work colleagues but not a 'party' is usually more successful.
Good luck and best wishes :-)
Question: If you were an employer, would you hire me as a general Office Clerk? I have high school diploma (so I graduated from HS) and from a community college I received 2 associate degrees AS and AA majoring really wide-range courses so there is really no particular concentration. I never took a typing course but I can say my typing is fast and accurate.
What is/are the way(s) to have high probability to get hired as a general office clerk or any other basic job working in an office while I'm now out of money to continue my college education?
Answer: They are looking for a certain skill set, typing being one of the skills. In this day minimum requirements should include but not limited to:
phone operation including customer service skills
proficiency with MS Office
good communication skills
10-key
usually experience in an office is a plus
dress professionally - a requirement that can be shown at interview and whenever you meet with potential employer
On your resume you should highlight all the skills that pertain to the job.
Question: I lost my divorce paper work, can I file an affidavit at the county clerk office? I have divorce for 20 years at Los Angeles CA, I tried to get the judgment copy from the court house but not found and I have no way to find it anywhere else, can I just file an affidavit at the local county clerk office instead? serious answer please. thank.
Answer: Just go to the court house or go online for california & get a copy. It will be a charge for each page. Sometimes you can pick it up if you live in that area. No bid deal
Question: What kinds of office or clerk jobs can a high school graduate or a college student not graduated can apply for? I just know DATA ENTRY.
OFFICE ASSISTANT?
Any others?
In other words,
what kinds of office or clerk jobs just require the minimum education requirement -- high school diploma?
Answer: File clerk, receptionist, Office clerk, etc.
If you have good computer skills and typing speed/accuracy you can also do secretarial and admin assistant type work. However, you can't work in HR without a degree and excellent people skills.
Question: Does anyone have good info on companies in NW Indiana area looking for a receptionist or an office clerk? I just recently moved to Highland, Indiana and I am diligently searching for employment. I'm on the 'net day & nite uploading my resume and so far I've only talked to 1 guy @ a temp agency. I have 7+ years experience as a clerk, and I do have computer knowledge. Any info would be greatly appreciated.
Answer: I work at Community Hospital in Munster. Try applying to one of the local hospitals in the area. Good Benefits and you don't have to have medical knowledge in all areas. Taking a medical terminology course won't hurt though. Purdue Cal offers that.

Question: whats the difference between a general office clerk and an administrator?

Question: What should I expect for a civil wedding ceremony at the county clerk office? How do couples usually dress? Is a wedding gown necessary for me, and a tux for my fiance? How long does it take? Should I invite a few family members? We will have a bigger ceremony later, but meanwhile we just want to get our license and certificate legalized ASAP. Any other suggestions or comments? =)
Answer: Depends on your county really. My fiance's sister was married in one and they had in the court room her immediate family and his. No one was super dressed up, she had on a plain short dress nothing fancy and he had a regular suit on. Nothing fancy is required, you could show up in jeans I'm sure!
Keep in mind it will most likely be held during the day on a weekday so not everyone may be able to come if you want extended family too. The justice of the peace was real nice and we all took some pictures together. Then they left out the door where we had bubbles to blow at them.
Question: Where can I get a good government job as an office clerk? Having a hard time getting a job in government...

Question: If I have notice to reappear in court for a progress report can I just go to the clerk's office? I recently got 5 AA meetings for a case dismissal. They gave me a notice to reappear in court but I heard that if you finish before the given date you can just go to the clerk's office and show them your progress report? I really need to know because I don't feel like waiting 8 hours again just to let the judge see my improvement. I was wondering if this is true? thanks before hand!
I live in California, Los Angeles
Answer: The judge wants to know your progress...it is doubtful that the clerk will dismiss a hearing that the court (judge) set.
What you can do, when you report to court, is ask for priority to see if your case can be heard first (or earlier than whatever number you find out your case is)
