Question: How does a person get appointed as an Administrator of an Estate.? My brothers and sisters and I are in the process of selling our mom's house this month we got a whooping bill from the mortgage company charging us extra for house insurance. We have house insurance but because it does not have my mother's name on it (an ugly technically) the mortgage company says they don't have to acknowledge the insurance (Allstate by the way) that we have. Therefore they are charging us three times what we are paying for their insurance. In the meantime they said they will only talk to the administrator of the estate...so now how do we go about doing that. Is there a way to do it pro se in Illinois Cook County. Where do we go?

Answer: Two ways - the will of the deceased party will usually specify who is the executor - aka, administrator. If the will does not specify it, or if there is no will, you have to file through probate court to have someone appointed executor - aka, administrator. Why doesn't the Allstate policy have your mother's name on it? The policy only covers the named party up to their interest in the policy - so if the property is TITLED to her name, and the insurance is "fred smith", then if the house burns to the ground, Allstate has NO obligation to pay, as Fred's name isn't on the title. The policy SHOULD be written "The Estate of Mary Gray" or whatever. Go to your Allstate agent, ask them to fix the name, RETROACTIVELY, so they can send a copy to the mortgage company. You could also add The Estate of Mary Gray as an additional insured party, but it's not the best way to do it. Is someone living in the house right now, or is it vacant? If it's on a homeowners policy, you're going to have a problem - as the titled owner is CLEARLY not living in the house. You're probably going to have to move it to a rental policy, or vacant house policy - which will cost more, but still be cheaper. You really need to sit down with your agent and get this straightened out. If the place burns tomorrow, there won't be anything to sell.

Question: If you had a choice to choose a person to be administrator of your estate and have the final say? over all your money. Would you choose some one who was behind in all their own bills (Hillary). Or someone who was on top of his own bills, plus generating more money to your estate (Obama)? Its not rocket sience.

Question: Is there a device or something to keep your system administrator at work from shadowing? not that I abuse the system but it's kinda creepy when they shadow and you are paying bills or checking an account on your lunch.

Answer: well the simple thing to do is simply don't do that on your work PC use your own laptop or such seance they cant legally do it on your Private computer they can see where you go but cant actually see what your doing

Question: I'm the administrator on my mom's property but my sister is bribing me!!!? I am the administrator on my moms estate. A property shows my moms name first and then my sister's and mine as trustees. Another property has only my mom's name but we are named in the will. I need to take out a loan to pay for bills 4 the farm like property taxes, worker's compensation, chemicals, doctor's bills for copays, car insurance etc. Now I've been paying for most but I can't keep paying for it all. The problem is my sister refuses to take out a loan unless I take out $25,000 to pay for her car. I don't think this is fair and she refuses to sign anything unless she gets at least that. Am I able to do anything or do I have to submit to her bribery!!!

Answer: Tell her if she refuses, you'll petition the court for partition of the propriety. The courts almost always will agree. The property will be auctioned off on the court house steps and you'll each receive your proper share of whatever money it is sold for. Be sure to save receipts for any bills you have already paid, as you'll get that off the top of the auction price. Either or both of you may, of course, bid on the propriety. You might want to prearrange a mortgage to pay her for her share should you win. If neither of you bids, the price may be less than fair market value, but that the chance she'll take for trying to hold you hostage. If she makes a fake bid, to get a higher price, let her win. Many of these auctions require bidders to put up cash deposit of 10% of their bid. If she wins but fails to complete the sale in a few days her deposit is forfited.

Question: What happens if after a probate is closed, a debt still remains with deceased person's medical bills? My brother didn't realized he signed as a guarantor on my dad's hospital bills (He's also administrator of the estate) and wants me to pay for it.

Answer: If there was money left in the estate, the estate should pay the bill. It is what your dad would have wanted. If you make your brother pay the bill because he was good enough to sign as the guarantor, you'll cause a rift with your brother that you will regret.

Question: Who "owns" a website address, the Registrant , the Administrator or the person paying the bill?

Answer: The owner of the domain is the Registrant. Administrator is the one running the site. Either of them can actually pay for it, but if you want to transfer the ownership to another person, its the Registrant that needs to be changed.

Answer: Because Fox's ratings are dropping dramatically and they're trying to use the Republican play book to run their business. It will fail as it did for the general election. Fox News is useless.

Question: Becoming the System Administrator? If I become the system administrator for my computer...does that mean I will be the one paying the bill? Or that's not true?

Answer: Not quite. System Administrator is a job. Being a user with administrator level access to your computer's operating system means that you can perform high-level functions. These include adding and removing other users, changing password and removing data.
