Question: What administrative agencies and Federal departments does the following business industries belong to? What Administrative Agencies and Federal Departments does the following business industries belong to?
1. Housing
2. Food
3. Pharmaceuticals
*A certain industry belongs to ONE Federal Department, and belongs to only ONE Administrative Agency? Or it can belongs to more than one Agency?
Answer: 1 is the Housing and Urban Development Agency (HUD)
2 & 3 are fall under the Food & Drug Administration (FDA)
Industries don't "belong" to any Federal Department but they may be regulated by more than one department or administration depending on what they do.
Question: How can get an office administrative position without experience? I have a college office administrative certificate from several years ago. I have not worked at that field. I have worked odd jobs like food services, customer services but not office administrative.
Please don't send me any spam.
Answer: Visit an employment agency - take a skills test to see what your strengths are. Try to identify the areas you are weak in and what you think you have to contribute.
Definitely get smart on Word, Office, Excel etc - you can do this from home.
also get registered at your local workforce agency and take advantage of all the workshops they offer. Don't put too much expectations on online job boards - you need to physically apply and sell your strengths.
Customer service/public contact might be a field you could intitally pursue. Working one-on-one with customers is valuable to most companies.
Question: How bad are Administrative Discharges and how long does it take to process? My friend is getting a Administrative Discharge from the Navy. My questions are how is this considered compared to Dishonorable and honorable discharges? Also how long will it take for the paperwork to go threw? They told her 2-6 weeks but I doubt that they will leave her sitting in her A-School barracks for a month and a half. Also I heard from some other people that she could still get her G.I. money for school, what is the story on that. Thanks for any help you can give.
She is getting one for having a lot of panic attacks. She did not do anything wrong and was never punished. As for the G.I. money, well that sucks but I kind of figured it that way.
I was planing to go see her one weekend before this happened. If I go up to see her in a week or so will they allow her to leave then? Since they dont have to pay for her to fly or ride back I was thinking that she could ask her C/O and just leave when I get up there. Will that work?
Answer: From what you described, she is getting a General Discharge, under honorable conditions, for having a disqualifying medical condition prior to her entry. The process involves a report of a medical board and, asssuming she agrees with that medical board's findings and recommended disposition, she is ready to be discharged.
If she has served less than one year on active duty, I don't think she is eligible for any schooling benefits under the Montgomery G.I. Bill.
Question: What is an administrative fee when moving into an apartment? I am moving in a couple of months and some of the places I am considering charge an 'administrative fee'. It is separate from the initial deposit, application fee, and pet deposit. What is this fee covering? Thanks!
Answer: It is a waste of your money. It is just a way for them to keep the rent lower to attract new tenants.... then make up the "loss" with fees. You have 2 choices. Either pay the fee and consider it part of the rent (if you like the complex in all other ways) or .... tell them you will only rent the apartment if they waive the fee.
Question: How do I get administrative access for photoshop? I recently purchased a pc with windows vista on it. I installed photoshop. But when photoshop opens I get a dialog box that says I don't have administrative access. However my user account is the only account on my computer, and the title of it is administrator. Anyone know how I can fix this?
Answer: Well, go to Control Panel> User Accounts> Add a Password. Once done, go where you saved Photoshop. Right Click> Run As Administrator. Should work.

Question: What kind of job can I get with a degree in Administrative Management? I am currently thinking about pursuing a BA degree in Administrative management. I am under the impression that this is similar to Administrative Assistant job. I know it deals with office management and also some of the technical aspects of an executive secretary.
I was wondering because when I get my degree I want to move out of Michigan and get a better job to support me and my family.
Help please.
Answer: I think you are right in that you can be an office manager or executive assistant or secretary.
Question: What do employers look for when hiring an administrative assistant? I have five years of purchasing experience (in a library) and two years of experience as a proofreader. The work of administrative assistants sounds interesting and I've applied to many such positions over the past three months.
I seem to meet the requirements, but are there other factors that the employers look for when trying to fill this position (besides previous experience as an AA)? I have a lot of experience dealing with management and have a very professional demeanor...Thanks.
Answer: Enthusiasm, competence, neatness, and follow-up.
Question: How come there is no union for theater administrative workers? Actors and stage workers have Equity, but those who work in the Box Office and other administrative offices do not have a union. Why is that?
Answer: They don't need them.Equity (and Sag and all the others) are in place to ensure safe working conditions for the actors as well as provide benefits like healthcare. Because actors, stage managers, etc can work for any theatre, it doesn't have to be the same one (unless you have a contract that states that, though I've never heard of it), they're more like independant consultants who are employed by the theatre for the duration of the rehearsal period and the run, that's it. They're not "full time".
Full time admin employee's of a theatre will usually have these things covered by their employer, which is the theatre. There are already laws in place regarding overtime, etc for these kinds of employees.
It's apples and oranges.
Question: How can I find an Administrative position in NYC asap? I have several years experience as an administrative assistant and a Bachelors in Business Administration and I'm having the hardest time finding a job in NYC. I'm looking for an Administrative or Executive Assistant position in the finance industry and I've been to several recruiters but they are no help...I guess they just want the commission--I also check online constantly. Does anyone have other options or solutions? Any advice is greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Answer: Try craigslist.org.
If you are looking to find a job quickly, then it is your best bet. Although, most people who have acquired jobs from craigslist have nothing postive to say about the job experience, but if you are just looking for something quickly than craigslist is a sure thing.
Question: How do I go about getting a professional business administrative job? I just recently graduated college in December with a BBA in general business. I'm still working the job I have now, which is a low end blue collar office job getting paid only $14 an hour. There really isn't much upward mobility at my job. Overall it's basically just a dead end job. I would really like to get into a professional business administrative job, but where do I start? How do I begin this process? Thanks for all your help everyone.
Answer: If you can afford it, get a resume professionally done (cream, heavy bond paper is very professional looking). Put your resume on Monster and Careerbuilder (and any other similar site you can). If you have a concentration with that BBA (Marketing, management, human resources, etc.), look around for a professional organization (for example, if you majored in Human Resources, you might want to join the Society for Human resource Management) and join the society - go to any area functions they may have (bring copies of your resume, but don't force them on people - only if they ask), network with the members and contribute where possible (not dollars, but ideas, like on their web site).
Last, see if you can sign up with a headhunter - they are paid to find you a job and so they have a vested interest in seeing you get a job (they are paid by the hiring client - if anyone wants money from you up front, walk away).
If there are charities in your area, volunteer a few hours a week to help out with the management of the charity - it acts as experience and also helps you network even more. Set up books for them, help do the books, spreadsheets, whatever.
In this day and economy, you have to give yourself every edge
Question: What skills are needed to work an administrative job for a school district? I would like to work for a school district. I am interested in an administrative job, like library assistant, for I have experience working in a library. I would not mind work in an office as a clerk. I have a business degree, four years of library experience (a part time job I worked during college), and basic computer skills I learned in college. What other skills will I need to work an administrative job for a school district?
Answer: If you are lucky, the education system can help you acquire the skills necessary to land and keep a job.
Question: Where can I find Administrative subcontract work in Phx? I am trying to become an "at-home Admin Assistant" in Phoenix, but I would like to do it as a subcontractor. Are there any specific companies that would be more prone to subcontracting Admin tasks? I am a Notary public, professional translator and have a high level of Administrative experience which includes Human Resources and Payroll. Thanks!
Answer: sound like you need to go back to work with those skills
Question: What is the best resource for someone to find a legitimate administrative work from home job? I know there are so many scams and come-on's out there, but I also have heard that there are a few good companies that provide opportunities for virtual administrative assistants.
Answer: Here are two sites where you can find legitimate work. Go to http://www.guru.com or http://www.rentacoder.com Both of those site are free and you bid on jobs that are of interest of you. The nice thing about it is that you are not tied down to a JOB and you can pick and choose what ever you like! Depending on your skills you could do very well.
I know exactly what you mean, I have been scammed many times and I know what to look for so be very wary of the answers you get, I have noticed a lot of people referring others to MLM, and other scams. Trust your gut and don't fall for it! Trust me, I've been there and done that. There are better ways.
Affiliate marketing is also another way to earn a great living online. Click on my avatar to visit my profile for more information if you are interested! I am averaging about 50 - 100 a day. Not to shabby! :)
Good luck to you and I hope you find what you are looking for!
This needs to be repeated! Please avoid paid survey and surf for money sites as most of those are scams. Also be very carefull about MLM programs as most of the time you have to recruit people to join under you to make any money. YUK!
